At recent meeting, the Troy University Board of Trustees elected Senator Gerald Dial to his second, four-year term as President Pro Tem of the Board.
“Sen. Gerald Dial is a leader’s leader. I have been fortunate to have known him for almost four decades and Troy University is fortunate to have him on our Board of Trustees,” said Troy’s Chancellor, Dr. Jack Hawkins, Jr. “Senator Dial enjoys the respect not only of his fellow trustees, but also the administration, faculty, staff, students and alumni. Troy enjoys a long-standing tradition of strong Board leadership and outstanding Board chemistry. Our trustees work as one. Senator Dial deserves a large share of the credit for setting the pace and creating the harmony that allows our Board to be so effective.”
“What a tremendous honor to be chosen again lead the board so we can continue to implement our strategic vision of expanding programs and facilities to better serve the needs of our students,” stated Senator Dial. “Under the leadership of Dr. Hawkins, and the direction of the board, we have added two new doctoral programs to better meet student needs. The future is very bright for Troy University.”
The Board of Trustees also elected Mr. John D. Harrison to his second four-year term as Vice-President of the Board.
Senator Gerald Dial represents District 13 in the Alabama Senate, which includes all or parts of Randolph, Lee, Cleburne, Clay, Cherokee, and Chambers counties.
